How this total compensation calculator works
The calculator adds salary, bonus, other cash compensation, equity, employer contributions and benefits values entered here. It then shows annual total compensation, cash compensation, employer benefits, monthly equivalent and percentage breakdowns.
Salary, bonus and other cash compensation
Cash compensation includes base salary, the bonus estimate and other cash compensation. Bonus can be entered as a percentage of base salary or as an annual amount.
Equity, RSUs and employer contributions
Equity and RSU values are user-entered estimates. They can change with vesting, liquidity, stock price and company value. Employer contributions are included as estimated annual values only.
Benefits value vs cash compensation
Health, insurance and other benefits can be useful for comparing offers or scenarios, but benefits may not be spendable cash. The monthly equivalent can optionally exclude employer benefits from that monthly display.
What this calculator does not include
This calculator does not estimate taxes, payroll withholding, deductions, vesting certainty, stock price changes, benefit eligibility, employment rules, offer negotiation outcomes or take-home pay. It is not tax, legal, career, employment or investment advice.
