How this work hours calculator works

The calculator counts selected workdays in the date range, multiplies by hours per workday and subtracts daily break minutes.

Workdays, breaks and excluded dates

Monday through Friday are selected by default. You can change the selected workdays and enter manual excluded dates, one per line. This version does not include a public holiday database.

Work hours vs time card hours

This tool estimates hours from a schedule pattern. Use the Time Card Calculator when you need to add actual start and end time rows.

What this tool does not include

This calculator does not provide payroll, HR, legal or employment-contract advice, calculate taxes, manage shifts or infer public holidays from your location.
